Top 12 ways out of a bad mood

Tips to improve your mood

Beating a bad mood is not easy, but the only person that can get you out of the bad mood is yourself! Here are a dozen mood tips to drag yourself out of your foul mood and into a more positive frame of mind.
We've all been there: something annoying or frustrating happens and as a result we spend the rest of the day in a foul mood. And the additionally frustrating thing is, someone can often know they’re in a bad mood, but be unable to snap out of it.
However, you and others around you don’t have to put up with those foul moods; instead, you can do something about them. By following our top 12 tips to beat a bad mood, you will be able to deal with your bad mindset in a number different ways — so if one doesn’t work, another one will!

Bad mood tip 1: Talk about what has put you in a bad mood

If you are in a bad mood, then there’s obviously a reason for it. Pinpoint why you’re in a bad mood and, if you can, talk to a friend about it. Simply talking about your problem with someone will make you feel many times better. After all, what they say about ‘a problem shared is a problem halved’ rings very true. But if you can’t talk to a friend, try going outside and letting out a mighty scream or having a good cry. Remember that bottling it all up will only darken your mood — so let it out!
Talking through your problems is a good way to beat a bad mood

Bad mood tip 2: Beat a bad mood with exercise

Exercise is a great way to get you out of a bad mood. If you can make yourself do some exercise, you will reap the benefits. Exercise releases endorphins, which are chemicals in your brain that make you feel good — so by doing some exercise you will automatically make yourself feel better. A game of squash could be a good option, as you’ll be able to take your bad mood out on the ball. On the other hand, if you take your sport too seriously and are a bad loser, then a non-competitive form of exercise may be the best way to go.

Bad mood tip 3: Eat chocolate to make you feel better

It’s amazing how many people instantly reach for their favourite chocolate for comfort if they are feeling low. It’s probably not a bad thing to do, though, as chocolate is known to be responsible for positive mood-lifting effects due to the release of serotonin, the brain’s natural pick-me-up. If you find that chocolate does the trick for you, then a little of it can be no bad thing. However, if you’re the sort who ends up with pang of guilt, then it’s best that you give it a miss.

Bad mood tip 4: Think about less fortunate people

If you’re in a really bad mood, it may be because you think everything is going wrong for you. What you need to do in this case is to regain your sense of perspective on life. Take a stroll, maybe in your lunch time, and have a look at the people around you. Chances are you’ll probably pass by at least one person who would probably settle for your problems and a roof over their head. Or you might see someone disabled or elderly struggling to get into a shop. If you can, get a sense of perspective — then things may not seem so bad after all!

Bad mood tip 5: Beat a bad mood by blasting out some 'positive' music

Everybody has some favourite tunes to listen to, from rousing classical music compositions to bouncing pop tunes. Listening to one of your favourite tracks — such as one that you associate with a happy time in your life — will help draw you out of your bad mood. And why not go one step further by belting out your favourite tune at the top of your voice? You could even do this if you feel yourself being drawn into a bad mood while stuck in traffic — as long as you don’t mind being a source of amusement to other motorists.

Bad mood tip 6: Get more light to improve your mood

At certain times of the year — particularly around winter — the lack of daylight hours can have a negative impact on your mood. Some people even get seasonal affective disorder (SAD), which is even worse. Whether or not you get SAD, it’s always good to get more light into your life. You could try to get out more during daylight hours, as this is known to improve mood — and you might also want to add some additional lighting and brighter colours into your home.

Bad mood tip 7: Take time out to improve your mood

Give yourself a chance to blank out all your negative thoughts by taking a few moments out and doing something different. For example, take half an hour out to have a soak in the tub — it can work wonders and help soothe both the body and mind. And why not get some candles out and have a glass of wine at the same time? If you’re in a bad mood, it’s sometimes good not to be around other people until you have got it out of your system. If you stay around people, you may cause a ruction which will, in turn, add to your bad mood.
Taking time out can improve your mood

Bad mood tip 8: Avoid people who put you in a bad mood

It might seem obvious, but there are people who just have an ability to put you in a bad mood. Okay, so some situations can’t be avoided — for example a work colleague or your boss — but there will be others in your social life who you can avoid. Some people can drain you and leave you in a bad mood — including some people who you are friends with! It’s best to avoid these people when you can — or at least keep your contact with them to a minimum.

Bad mood tip 9: Make contact with positive people

The flipside of avoiding negative people is making contact with positive ones. There are some people out there who have a very positive influence on us. They are the sort you probably never argue with, or the type of people that have you cracking up with their sense of humour. It may be that you’ve lost touch with them recently, so why not look them up and give yourself a boost. Don’t be waiting for them to make the first move — do it yourself. Surrounding yourself with positive people will have a positive effect on your mood.

Bad mood tip 10: Get a pet to help your mood

Studies have found that pets can actually help us feel better. For starters, animals do some pretty funny things at times, which will help to make you laugh. Even stroking a pet is known to lower heart rate, making you calmer. And if you get yourself a dog that requires plenty of walks, this will mean you get some exercise and daylight — which will further enhance your good mood.

Bad mood tip 11:  Think happy thoughts

If you can take yourself back to a time when you were happy, then this will instantly fill you with happy thoughts. If you need a prompt, why not dig out some old photographs of great times that you’ve had? Being in a bad mood is avoidable if you rid yourself or intruding bad thoughts and replace them with good ones. It really comes down to choice — choose to think of unhappy thoughts and you will be unhappy, and vice versa. People are only as happy as they allow themselves to be!

Bad mood tip 12:  Try to avoid worrying

Worry is one of the major causes of unhappiness — so eradicating it will definitely improve your mood. The simple answer is to stop worrying — after all, worrying doesn’t actually help in any way at all. If it’s something that you can deal with at the time, then do it, and hopefully that will end the worry. If you can’t deal with it at that moment in time, then think of potential solutions and be optimistic rather than worrying excessively about a problem.

A final word about improving your mood

Anyone can become more upbeat and optimistic just by using some of the techniques mentioned above. When you try some of them, you will inevitably feel a burden lift off your shoulders and become more positive. The key to it all is an optimistic outlook. Accepting that bad moods are an inevitable part of life can immediately lessen the impact of a bad mood — and having an optimistic outlook means you’re more likely to actively look on the bright side.

Top 10 causes of stress and how to beat them

Beating the cause of stress

Stress is usually caused by too much pressure being put on us by others — or in some cases by ourselves — and if stress is left unchecked, it can lead to an inability to function effectively and cope under pressure. Check out our top 10 common causes of stress and solutions to help you beat each of these worrysome stress factors...
Stress can often be induced due to a lack of time

Stress cause 1: Not having enough time

Frequently you can be running around all day trying to balance all your tasks at work and at home, yet still not manage to tick everything off your list. Sometimes this can be due to the demands that are placed upon you being unrealistic, but often it simply comes down to poor time management and not setting your priorities.

Stress solution: Learn to manage your time more effectively

It may sound obvious, but better time management really can reduce your stress. Many of us waste a lot of time doing unimportant tasks — so make sure you always prioritise your day and do the important jobs first. Also, do the jobs that you don’t want to do before moving onto the more pleasant tasks, as just thinking about unpleasant jobs can cause stress.

Stress cause 2: Unhealthy lifestyle

While some people might adopt an unhealthy lifestyle due to lack of time — for example by turning to fast food because they haven’t time to eat properly — others may have an unhealthy lifestyle because they are already stressed — for example by turning to smoking as coping mechanisms. Whatever the reason, an unhealthy lifestyle can reduce your ability to cope with stress, and in some circumstances it may actually increase your stress levels.

Stress solution: Make small changes towards a healthier lifestyle

Having a healthy diet, doing regular exercise, and getting enough sleep means that your body will be able to cope with the stress that is thrown your way. Exercise in particular can be great for stress relief — especially if it involves taking your stress out on a ball or other inanimate object! Also, by knowing you’re leading a healthy lifestyle, you’ll be in a more positive frame of mind and will be better able to cope.

Stress cause 3: Taking on too much

You may have a tendency to take on too much both at work and in your home life, perhaps because you don’t want to let people down. If you do this, however, it will frequently lead to you stressing about having too much to do and not managing to achieve everything you have taken on. Trying to take too much on will also mean you won’t be able to give what you do your best.

Stress solution: Know your limitations and don’t take on too much

It’s better to be honest and tell people what your true limitations are. This way, you can avoid getting unnecessarily stressed by not taking more on than you can comfortably handle at any given time. It’s better to be slightly cautious rather than end up doing more than you should be doing — and remember: it’s not a sign of weakness to ask for a helping hand, so seek help if you need it.

Stress cause 4: Conflicts in the workplace or at home

If relationships are strained at home or in the workplace, then it’s more than likely that you’ll be stressed about them. Conflicts might occur due to disagreements about how things should be done — and so you might feel that you have to stand your ground to make progress — but ultimately a lot of hot air will only contribute to your stress levels.

Stress solution: Avoid unnecessary conflicts

While arguments may not wholly be avoidable, it makes sense to steer clear of or prevent conflicts whenever possible. There’s no need to be argumentative or confrontational; simply try to arrive at a solution that both parties are reasonably happy with. Always remember that frank discussion is better than bitter dispute.

Stress cause 5: Inability to accept things as they are

Some people don’t have the ability to accept things as they are or realise that certain situations are out of their control. If you try to change something that you really can’t change, then you’ll just be creating unnecessary stress that you can do without. Plus, all that time spent stressing about it means you’ll be unable to concentrate on the other things that you could be doing — which may make you even more stressed.

Stress solution: Accept the things you can’t change

Changing a difficult situation is not always possible, and if that’s the case then it is best to accept and come to terms with the fact that you can’t do anything. It may help to talk a situation over with somebody else, as they may be able to help you see it in a more positive light or from a different and less stressful perspective. Talking over things can help to prevent your perception of a situation from getting out of proportion.

Stress cause 6: Failure to take time out and relax

Being constantly on the go means that you will be in a heightened state of tension all the time and your body will never have the chance to get rid of your stress. Failing to take time out will also reduce your effectiveness in the long run.

Stress solution: Take time out and recharge your batteries

Taking a break may mean that you can perform much better afterwards, and as such you will easily make up the time you have used for relaxing as well as feel more refreshed. Even just ‘taking five’ can recharge your batteries and give you greater clarity of thought. Relaxation will help your body return to its normal healthy state.

Stress cause 7: Non-work-related issues

Stress may be caused by a non-work-related issue such as a serious illness in the family, having to care for dependents, a bereavement, moving house, or debt problems. Often these issues are unavoidable and not something that you can readily deal with — but it’s worth trying to deal with them rather putting them off or trying to ignore them.

Stress solution: Take time off or change your working practices

If such issues are causing you stress and an inability to do your job, then it may be best to take time off to deal with the issues. If there’s an ongoing problem, then you could try to approach your employer to ask for more flexible working arrangements —which may allow you to cope better with those issues.

Stress cause 8: Failure to see the humour in situations

Some people are often able to laugh in the face of adversity and seem to be able to brush aside problems and deal with them effectively. They essentially don’t allow themselves to become overly stressed. However, other people may not see the humour in some situations, and this may cause them to become more stressed.

Stress solution: Harness the power of laughter

Adopting a humorous view towards life’s situations can take the edge off everyday stressors. Not being in ‘serious mode’ all the time can help you to have clearer thinking — and laughing has been clinically proven to lower blood pressure and reduce stress hormones. So, try to see the funny side of things.

Stress cause 9: Particular situations that cause stress

Becoming stressed in some situations is sometimes unavoidable, and inevitably there are situations in which we can expect to be stressed from time to time, such as in the workplace or when you’re stuck in traffic and you need to get somewhere quickly.
Stress solution: Avoid situations that place you under stress
The way to avoid or minimise some of the stress you may be under is to stay away from situations that stress you out. For example, if you get stressed when you shop in the supermarket, try doing your grocery shopping online instead. If, however, a stressful situation is unavoidable — such as being in the workplace — then try to follow some of the other tips in this article, which will help to ease your stress.

Stress cause 10: Cause of stress: Major life changes

Significant changes in things that we have become accustomed to can be a real cause of stress. For example, changing your job or moving house may be among the most stressful things you will do in your lifetime — which is possibly why most of us try to do it infrequently! Also, the process leading up to the change may be stressful in itself.

Stress solution: Welcome change as a challenge

If you see change as a positive rather than a negative challenge, then any stress that accompanies the change will be less likely to affect you. A new job or new home, for example, should be viewed as new beginning, and should be something to look forward to rather than fear.

Preventing stress …

There are many causes of stress, as we have seen, but by following some of our stress solutions suggested here, you should be better able to deal with stress when it arises. Alternatively, if you avoid or deal with the causes of stress that we have outlined, you could even avoid stress before it occurs!

Five Steps for Fighting Stress

Everybody gets stressed from time to time. Different people feel stress in different ways. Some ways of dealing with stress — like screaming, hitting someone, or punching a wall — don't solve much. But other ways, like talking to someone you trust, can start you on the road to solving your problem or at least feeling better.
Try taking these five steps the next time you are stressed:
  1. Get support. When you need help, reach out to the people who care about you. Talk to a trusted adult, such as a parent, other relative, a school counselor, or a coach. And don't forget about your friends. They might be worried about the same test or have had similar problems, such as dealing with a divorce or the death of a beloved pet.
  2. Don't freak out! It's easy to let your feelings go wild when you're upset. Notice your feelings, and name them — for example, "I am so angry!" And say or think about why you feel that way. Then, find a way to calm down and get past the upset feelings and find a way to express them. Do breathing exercises, listen to music, write in a journal, play with a pet, go for a walk or a bike ride, or do whatever helps you shift to a better mood.
  3. Don't take it out on yourself. Sometimes when kids are stressed and upset they take it out on themselves. Oh, dear, that's not a good idea. Remember that there are always people to help you. Don't take it out on yourself. Be kind to yourself and ask for the helping hand or pat on the back that you need — and deserve — to get you through the tough situation you're facing.
  4. Try to solve the problem. After you're calm and you have support from adults and friends, it's time to get down to business. You need to figure out what the problem is. Even if you can't solve all of it, maybe you can begin by solving a piece of it.
  5. Be positive — most stress is temporary. It may not seem like it when you're in the middle a stressful situation, but stress does go away, often when you figure out the problem and start working on solving it.
These five steps aren't magic — and you might have to do some steps more than once, but they do work. And if you can stay positive as you make your way through a tough time, you'll help yourself feel better even faster. Ah . . . it feels so good when the stress is gone!

Resep Panada

info-rese-panada
Resep Bahan Kulit Panada:
  • 250 gram tepung terigu protein tinggi
  • 100 gram tepung terigu protein sedang
